The map is cast by hand in your chosen metal finish, mounted on white faux leather, and finished with an engraved wooden title plate fixed with solid brass screws.

About the map

This piece captures the distinctive terrain around Catbells, one of the Lake District’s most recognisable and much-loved fells. The relief shows the surrounding ridgelines, valleys, and landscape around Derwentwater and Keswick in fine detail.

The 3D map itself measures approximately 15 x 15cm.

The frame is a high-quality black wood-effect frame.

How it’s made

Each map begins with accurate mapping data, which is processed using modern 3D terrain modelling techniques. From this, an original pattern is produced and a mould is made.

The maps are then cast by hand using a process known as cold casting, where resin is mixed with real metal powders to create a genuine metal-effect surface. Each casting is given an aged patina, polished by hand, mounted, framed, and carefully packed.

Subtle variations in tone and texture are part of the handmade casting process and make each piece unique.
